A common idea nowadays is that Atheism is the most logical position.
In face of scientific discoveries that have disproved practical details of most religions, it is weird and unnatural to believe in God.
This position couldn’t be farther from the truth.
Throughout all of history, humans have had a longing for something supernatural.
Ancient Egyptians worshipped the sun.
The Aztecs sacrificed their own children.
Ancient Greeks put on the Olympics to honor Zeus.
There is clearly a need within the human psyche for supernatural meaning.
It isn’t weird to search for God.
If you’re looking at history, it’s actually the opposite: Atheism is weird.
Just because we know about black holes and the big bang doesn’t mean we are “more human” than people in the past.
If anything, THEY were more human becuase they didn’t spend their time eating corn syrup and doomscrolling.
